Effect of silicone oil on catalytic combustion

silicone oil, also known as polysiloxane, belongs to high molecular polymer. Silicone oil began to be used in cosmetics in 1950, and developed rapidly in cosmetics after 1970. The cosmetics containing silicone oil have the following characteristics: good lubricity, uniform waterproof protective film on the skin, no greasy feeling, good luster; good anti ultraviolet radiation performance, no oxidation deterioration under the action of ultraviolet radiation, causing skin irritation; good anti-static performance. E and dust-proof effect, good permeability, no effect on perspiration, good stability, chemical inertia and matching performance.

Silicone oil is a kind of polyorganosiloxane with different polymer chain structure. It is a silicone product with many varieties and wide application range. According to the different classification of substituents in polysiloxane chain. Silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, hydrogen silicone oil, vinyl silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, hydroxyl silicone oil, fluorosilicone oil, amino silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil, etc. Due to the different substituents, there are many kinds of silicone oils, showing different boiling points and decomposition temperatures. For example, the boiling points of some silicone oils are more than 100 ℃ and some more than 300 ℃. The decomposition temperature of silicone oil is above 300 ℃ and the highest is 500 ℃. The decomposition product of silicone oil at high temperature is silica (SiO2).

According to the above analysis, if the volatile organic compounds contain silicone oil, even if a small amount of silicone oil is brought into the catalyst, the following effects will be achieved in theory. 1. If the boiling point of the silicone oil is very high and the decomposition temperature is also very high, it will directly adhere to the surface of the catalyst, resulting in the deactivation of the catalyst; 2. If the boiling point of the silicone oil is low, it will decompose into silica at the catalytic temperature, which has little effect on the catalyst.
