After the first few weeks, using a silicone feeder is unlikely to cause problems as long as you are aware of the following:

Clean the silicone feeder every day according to manufacturer's instructions to prevent bacterial infection. Our silicone feeder can be washed in the dishwasher, or you can wash them with warm soapy water.

Don't hang a silicone feeder around your baby's neck. Don't use any rope or ribbon to tie the nipple to the crib, car seat, pram or seat. Your baby can be strangled by any type of rope.

Studies have shown that babies who use a silicone feeder are more likely to wean than those who don't. This is probably because as soon as the baby grows up, once he starts eating solid food, it is usually his desire to suck that keeps him looking for breasts often. Babies who use a silicone feeder will encounter something other than their breasts when they need to suck, so they may decide to give up breastfeeding earlier than infants who don't use nipples.
